You can thank kosher for that. He's been trying to get all the demofags over for a while.

Demofag....I like it Very Happy

And maybe I should rephrase that. I knew that mainly people from KS would be here, but these forums are more active in general than I thought they would be. Which is good; this game deserves at least a wee bit more attention. God, I'm using 'wee' a lot.

Well we do receive quite a bit of migration and we probably expect a bit more in the coming months as we release more and more characters to the public....

Hello, all.

I am new.

Glad to join the internet bandwagon again after my few months of depression because of KS.

Loving the idea of this VN because I have schizoid-affective disorder Sad but it's manageable. For some, this [visual novels] is the only way to work to gaining a real-life relationship: through simulations.

Hiyo

I haven't properly introduced myself yet, so here goes nothing.

A lot of people here seem to have reasons for checking this VN out. I don't really have one. Mad

I don't have an artistic bone in my body. (I checked twice!)

The majority of people I come across tell me that my username doesn't suit me, so you might want to take that into consideration.

Finally, I'm hoping to stick around for the rest of the development of this VN. The process seems really cool and interesting to me.

blah blah blah

Oh yeah, the South should have won the civil war!

Hey there, I'm SemiPolish. Right off the bat, I'll also admit to being turned on to visual novels by Katawa Shoujo, and thus I have become interested in any possibility of a new outlook on the topics covered in Katawa Shoujo. I've enjoyed reading with a passion since I was young, and have, as a result, excelled in my writing skills beyond the stiff structure that my school demands, although I have never pursued any serious venture into personal works of literature. These two aspects of my life have made me all the more interested in the process of creating such a masterpiece as Katawa Shoujo turned out to be, and I have only the best wishes for the development team here.

As for my personal life, I enjoy ice hockey and video games in my free time. When I'm not on the ice or lazing on the couch, I'm trying to catch up on classic novels that I couldn't understand at a younger age, such as George Orwell's "1984" or Joseph Heller's "Catch-22." Surprisingly enough, I don't enjoy anime for the sake of anime.

I hope to be an active part of this community in the coming months (years?) of the development of this visual novel, and I look forward to observing so many masters at work.

I hated its guts for the first ~75 pages, but I eventually warmed to the quirky humor. I think that the real reason I disliked it at first was that it was an independent-reading novel that I had chosen, of my own will, for school, and the beginning is very helter-skelter and slow. I was simply kicking myself for choosing such a book, but I got over it and enjoyed myself.

Hello everyone! My favorite books are Lolita, anything by Kafka, anything by Kurt Vonnegut, anything by Alexander Solzenysten, anything by Richard Brautigan, Infinite Jest, anything by Welsh Irvine, and quite a few others. As far as anime goes, my favorite is Neon Genisis Evangelion, and I've watched (other then that) Sgt. Frog, Death Note, Exel Saga, Elfen Lied, Nana to Kaoru, nijijou, Squid Girl, FMA, Accelerator, Lucky Star, Azumanga Dioh and many others. My favorite manga is Franken Fran. My favorite comedian is a tie between George Carlin and Bill Hicks. My favorite band is Tool. My favorite sunday comic (was) Calvin & Hobbes. My favorite sub-genre of porn is monstergirls. My girlfriend is a high-functioning autistic femsub who would be considered underage in most 1st world countries. One thing I've been pondering over is the fact that people seem to bond with others purely by finding similarities, and yet they feel LESS narcissistic by doing so. Quite the contradiction. I'm extremely excited about this VN so far (though that's likely due to personal bias, seems like a common reason around here) My favorite characters at the moment are Jeanne Lefevre and Isolda Gaillard (though I do love Annaliese Koell for the otaku-ness) Sorry I'm not into cannibal-tan. I prefer shy girls and yandere's to tsundere's. So yeah, once again, hello everybody. Sorry for the self-wank.

Sorry if my self description makes me sound like a pretentious cocksucker. I'm well aware that listing my fandoms does little to illustrate my character, but I think it's impossible for anyone to have a completely objective view of themselves (always have). Also, sorry in advance for being overly apologetic (yes, that WAS meant to be ironic). I'm known on the IRC as "MeatBag". Also, I was slightly wrong in my descriptions. My girlfriend is a switch, in case you were wondering how it would even work to be in a relationship with a masochist for someone with my preferences.

What goes on, fellow forum-goers? The name's C-Start, and...oh God, I'm terrible at introductions. Well, uh, I like video games, animation, doodling, writing, daydreaming, procrastinating, useless trivia, the internet...all of the usual things kids are into these days, you know. Nothing special.

Can't for this VN; I loved Katawa Shoujo, so I'm sure I'll love Mentaru Shoujo! I'm looking forward to becoming part of the community, and hopefully you'll all be able to bear me! (':

@Meatbag
Have you seen the movie Cube (the very first one)? Read that you liked Kafka. Cube is kind of Kafkaesque in nature.

And your avatar makes your post twice as intriguing to read. Just sayin'.

Re: Introduce yourselves Fans!

Post by God Wyges on 2012-03-20, 12:34

Good day.

So, to introduce myself... First of all, I am terrible at introductions, because I do not know what to say about myself.
Well, I came here when I heard from Mike Inel about this project and I thought that I should stick here, because this eroge might be as good as 'Katawa Shoujo' was or even better. Yeah, I liked 'Katawa Shoujo' a lot, but... I finished only Hanako's route, because I just could not make myself do other routes because my heart did not let me. To be honest, Hanako's route made me feel something after a long time again. And now I just cannot betray Hanako with other girls. But maybe she will let me do Lilly's part sometime. Maybe in a half of year or so.

And one sentence about how I got here became an essay about 'Katawa Shoujo' and me. Moving on... I am from Lithuania. It is a country in Eastern Europe, on a coast of Baltic Sea, in case you don't know. A lot of people do not. There are people who think that Lithuania is in Africa or so. That is probably because Lithuania is a young country, we won our indenpendence from USSR only 21 years ago. We made USSR crumble. ^^ Oh, and I am 19-year-old and I have my State Exams in 2 months. I feel like throwing up from thinking about them.

What to say about myself... I love reading books (I learnt how to read when I was 2 years old), my favourite books probably are... Simon R. Green's 'Deathstalker' series, Tolkien's 'LotR', G. R. R. Martin's 'Game of Thrones', Glen Cook's "The Black Company" and etc... Yeah, I like sci-fi and fantasy alot.

I got interested in anime only 20 months ago. My friend made me watch 'FMA:Brotherhood' and I really liked it and since then I spend almost every my free hour watching anime and reading manga. To tell you the truth, before starting watching anime I thought that only mentally sick people could watch anime, because "who could like it? There are no interesting plot, interesting characters" and so on. Yeah, I used to think that all anime was like Dragon Ball, but then I changed my opinion and now you can call me otaku. If you're interested, you can find me on MAL HERE.

My favourite animes are... Spice and Wolf, Toradora, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Eureka 7, Angel Beats, Clannad, Neon Genesis Evangelion and lots moar. Favourite mangas? Claymore, Great Teacher Onizuka, Usagi Drop, Angel Densetsu, Berserk, Sanctuary and more, more, more...

My taste in music is... Strange, at least... I used to listen a lot to EBM, my favourite bands of EBM are Unter Null and Psyclon Nine. But... A year ago something 'clicked' and my taste in music took a 180 degree turn. Now I mostly listen anime OSTs and J-POP, J-Rock. I really like japanese group School Food Punishment and Aya. Also I really like Hatsune Miku, K-On OST, Detrot Metal City OST and lots of others... If someone is interested in my weird taste in music, you can find out about it on my Last.fm page HERE

My dark side? I am a... Lolicon. In a normal way. Without criminal intentions. I just prefer girls who look young, but are... Of legal age. I prefer slim, petite girls with white skin and dark hair. So, there is no point in calling the police...

Okay, that is enough about me, I am making you all bored... I hope that we will get along well from now now, because I am planning to keep stalking this forum. o/

Lithuania is a young country, we won our indenpendence from USSR only 21 years ago.
Is that really how you think of it? Lithuania as a country has existed since the high middle ages as far as I know. Sure, it took on different forms and disappeared of the map a few times, but it was still Lithuania right? I believe my country, Holland, has existed since the 9th century becuase that's when it became a political unit for the first time. As far as the Netherlands as a union are concerned, I believe it started in 1581 when we declared our independence for the first time. Sure, it took over half a century for the Spanish king to recognize our independence and we've been occupied by foreign countries a few times. But in my eyes, my country and the union have existed since they were created, not when they gained independence for the last time. Why don't you think the same way about yours?
(yes, I'm actually interested in things like this Wink)

He he, I am glad someone asked me this. ^^

Actually, I am a history fanatic and I love discussing these things.

To be honest, I am very proud of my country and I am quite a nationalist (NOT a nazi. Nationalism=/=Nazism). Lithuania's name first time was mentioned in year 1009 in Annals of Quedlinburg (lithuanians kill Brunon the Saint then who wanted to introduce Christianity here) and in the middle of XIII century our first official country - Grand Duchy of Lithuania - was established. It was not big then, but with passing years it grew - in XV century Lithuania's borders were from Baltic Sea to the Black Sea - Lithuania once was the biggest country in Europe! But because of lots of enemies (we were pagans then, the last pagan country in Europe), Sweden from North, Russia from East, Teutonic Order and lots of other christianic countries from West and South. We were surrounded. For some time we were able to fend off the enemies, but long-lasting wars, internal disputes and some draughts in a row made us accept the proposal from Poland - to accept christianity and to establish polish-lithuanian union - Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. While on paper we were stil independent, we didn't have a lot of freedom to do as we please. But with passing years and idiotic political system Commonwealth collapsed and Prussia, Russia and Austria gladly divided our lands. Smile AFter that we lived under the pressure of Russian Empire until 1918 when we established the Repiblic of Lithuania. It did not last long - Soviets wanted us. So from 1940 until 1991 we part of USSR. It wasn't our will to join USSR like russians still say, we were forced to...

So, there is the condensed story... I am really proud of my country and I said that it is a young country only because that I didn't want to elaborate this country, because most of people are not interested in these thinks and a lot of people just do not care about such a small country. Smile

MDV, if you want, we can talk about history or whatever anytime. ^^

The only thing I know about Lithuania is what I've watched from Hetalia: Axis Powers.

So is it true that Lithuania is good friends with Poland?

Uh oh, my post vanished somehow... Sad Let's write it again...

khaos4ng31 wrote:The only thing I know about Lithuania is what I've watched from Hetalia: Axis Powers.

How should I put this... No.
There is a deep tension between Lithuania and Poland. Between Russia and us too. That's because of our past. When Lithuania and Poland were in union, we always were not equal to Poland. In their eyes we were not worthy of indenpendency, they always tried to completely annex us, there always were internal disputes between us. Even after World War I, when we regained our indenpendency from Russian Empire, we had to fight with Poland for our lands (even now they are claiming that our capital belongs to them). Nowadays Poland bashes us for lots of things. For example, our educational system. They claim that our educational system is anti-polish, how we want to brainwash their children and other crap. They even want that we would make polish language as our second national language, because... ~7% of Lithuania's population is polish. *makes a facepalm* And Poland likes to meddle in our politics too, so yeah, there's a great tension between us.

In short - No. On facade we all - Lithuania, Poland and Russia - are friends, but behind our backs we are holding knives. Well, russians are holding valves of their gas pipes too. From time to time they threaten us that they will stop providing us with gas. They especially like to use this threat in winters. Very Happy

Rome's bag? What's that? I have not watched Hetalia yet. :s

____________

I am glad you know, because almost every time I say that I am a patriot and a nationalist people tend to think that I am nazi. It's silly how people do not know the difference between nationalism and nazism. Nowadays in our oh so cosmopolitic world it is becoming taboo to say that you love your country, because people think of that as nazism. *facepalm again*

____________

History teacher? It is a nice profession, sometimes I think about this profession, but it is a pity that in my country you could not life from history teacher's/professor's salary. :/

I assume that "Rome's bag" is the spiritual connection to the Vatican City, the hub of the Catholic faith.

I might get dirty looks for shouting "AMURICA" whenever NASCAR comes on the tube, but I don't care. We may have a speckled past in Europe/South Asia/Middle East, but I prefer to look at the bright side: rib-roasts, baseball, and capitalism. (I'm a third generation German immigrant, so I kinda sort of know that feel)

You know what's funny God Wyges?

A lot of Nationalists hated the Nazi Party. Or at least the old-timers I talked to in Germany.

Hello, I am 31 years old hailing from Sacramento, CA. USA. Spent a year waitng for Katawa Shoujo and was not disappointed by any of it, loving ever route (including Shizune's STUFF IT HATERS). I had some, reservations at first when I first heard about this though there does seem to be the same commitment to handle the subject tastely that was at 4LS. I am ver much looking foward to seeing this out, hopefully I won;t have to wait five years.

Hey mang, where can I get a good burger in the greater Sac area? I've tried Stockton Burger(it was ai'ght) and Murder Burger in Davis(they hate me for some reason. I always get my food cold.)

I usually make a pit stop in the area on the way to/from Tahoe.

Just someone who found this through KS.
It's cool, great progress.

I found KS after 1 month of release, but this time, I'll be ready of being one of the longtime waiters of this!.

Squeeze Inn is pretty good as is Dad's in Land Park. If you don't mind heading up to Roseville Knucklehead's has some kick ass hot dogs/

Even if that is true, we can let the other people have their non-shizune fun!

Yeah, I know that. Everyone should be a patriot of one's country, but you're really should not take that too far, like Nazis did.
But people (poles and russians, who live in my country) sometimes take me for a nazi because sometimes my views for them are too radical. Very Happy

As I said previously, I did not play any other routes expect of Hanako's, but somehow I liked Shizune the least. :>

You get to meet Shizu a few times in Act 1. It was enough for me to get my opinion on all girls. Very Happy

Spoiler:
Hanako>Lilly>Rin>Emi>Misha(if we count her as a heroine)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Shizune. :>

I have been wondering about that too... Probably that's because she reminds me a bit of myself. And I know what an ass I am and I really would not want to be in a relationship with myself. Very Happy

Although... Hanako resembles me waaaaay better, but she doesn't have my so called 'Fatal flaws'. I just wanted to break her outer-shell. I know very well how much a person wants to have somebody who could break their outer-shells. ;/

Same scale here. Shizune felt really shallow to me.

Probably because of her looks.
Shizune is somewhat androgynous and a lot of people perceive her to be a hardass. But once you play her path...

I'm inclined to dismiss the haters as being uncomfortable with powerful women, but that'd be very childish and stupid of me so I refrain from doing so. I suppose she's a love-her-or-hate-her sort of character.

Her character wasn't Shizune's problem, bad plot was.

I just tend to dislike tsundere characters (too much emotional dishonesty for my tastes). It would be pretty silly if I happened to be uncomfortable with powerful women, given that I tend to have masochistic tendencies.

I would not classify Shizune as a tsundere - she lacks the personality changes from tsuntsun to deredere and the antagonist attitude towards her love interest, as well as the denial of feelings that comes with the territory.

A bit late to the party, but I might as well say that I was with KS from the start (as a fan, mind, not a dev or anything), and enjoyed it greatly. As an erstwhile student of psychology and creative writer (and more personally as someone who has extensive experience with psychological issues), I think that MS has a lot of potential, and will definitely prove to be interesting.

Looking forward to release day!

P.S. Shizune is my waifu. I have no regrets.
